2014 Hosted A Time and A Place for the Ranch House presentation as part of the 2014 Brown Bag Lecture Series Assisted Salt Lake County to secure funding for Cliff May-designed neighborhood designation. 2013 Heritage Award presented to a private homeowner for rehabilitation of 3017 E. St. Mary’s Circle. Presented What Living Architects Taught Me About Mid-Century Buildings at 2013 Utah Preservation Conference. Hosted tour in Olympus Cove neighborhood (attendance 750). Advocated to Salt Lake County to restart their historic preservation committee and seek designation for Cliff May-designed neighborhood within Olympus Cove, Millcreek Township. Co-hosted screening of Coast Modern and discussion panel that included Director Mike Bernard with the Utah Film Center (attendance 240). Through a partnership with the Utah Division of State History, collected more than ten oral biographies from living architects that practiced in post-World War II Utah and published the transcripts on the website. 2012 Heritage Award presented to Salt Lake City Corp. for rehabilitation of the former Salt Lake City Main Library and reuse as The Leonardo. Presented Mud and Mod: An Architectural History Perspective at 2012 Utah Preservation Conference. Hosted tour in St. Mary’s neighborhood (attendance 500). Published newsletter article Snowbird: Vision for a Modern Resort in quarterly newsletter Heritage. Hosted Snowbird: Vision for a Modern Resort presentation and tour (attendance 75). Held in conjunction with DOCOMOMO National Modernism Tour Day. 2011 Heritage Award presented to Tracy Aviary for rehabilitation of the Wilson Pavilion. Heritage Award presented to private homeowner for rehabilitation of 1467 Penrose Drive. Hosted event at private residence designed by architect Taylor Woolley (100 attendance). Published research and bio. Launched website www.slmodern.org. Support provided by the Richard and Julia Moe Fund of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the George S. and Dolores Dorѐ Eccles Foundation, and CONTACT Design. 2010 Hosted Utah premiere of Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman with a discussion panel featuring Director Eric Bricker. Presented Affordable Mid-century Modern Resources Roundtable and Get a Reaction: Preserve Utah’s Nuclear Age at 2010 Utah Preservation Conference. Hosted event a private residence designed by architect Eduard Dreier (200 attendance). Published research and bio. Co-hosted Modernism at Risk: Modern Solutions for Saving Modern Landmarks exhibit with the World Monuments Fund and University of Utah College of Architecture + Planning. Hosted tour in Westshire neighborhood of West Valley City (200 attendance). Published research and bio on architect Ron Molen. 2009 Established as a formal committee of Utah Heritage Foundation. Hosted launch event at private residence designed by architect Stephen Macdonald (75 attendance). Published research and bio.
